Douglas County Local Access TV erroneous information: >>Listen to Public Meetings on Government Channel 19. re: >>>Local Access TV: Douglas County has been downgraded from the original 3 PEG (Public-Education-Government) channels to only one remaining channel due to lack of use. And that channel is 191 NOT 19. Number change is due to Bandwidth adjustments from the FCC and MSO decisions. This remaining ‘Public Access’ station is basically unused by the Public or Schools and is in borderline violation of FCC regs. and Franchise and definitely of the spirit of Local Access TV. To bring this station into access for the general public, first requirement is for a Cable TV Regulatory Board. We have presented this need for 14 years at countless events and meetings, including formally to Commissioner in Chambers, latest was Thursday to Candidates, but still have not acquired the necessary 5 committed people to join the Board. Our Local Access TV credentials: Producer of both Live and Rebroadcast Community shows of all types/ Chairman of Cable TV Regulatory Board/ Member of NFLCP and CTAM (Local access organizations)/ 6 years with Charter Communications. We have also offered our own equipment for startup of Station. Please consider applying for the Cable TV Regulatory Board so we may formalize the Station and bring Community TV to life along with Multimedia training as an Economic Development opportunity. 541-464-6060 cougarbluffs@yahoo You must be a Charter Cable subscriber and live in the Roseburg or surrounding areas. co.douglas.or.us/uvtv_schedule.asp
