#DouglasKruger says that anytime, anywhere you can become an industry expert. I remember having a discussion about this topic with Mumeson Tebid and Baggio Luvhengo. It was quiet an experience as we all had different views about experts. Even though Mr Tebid preferred to be an Ombudsman. Lol... But, Douglas states that to be an expert, one needs three things. (1) The industry knowledge, though he doesnt say to what extend. (2) You have to infuse your personality into your embarkments and endeavours of been an expert. We have seen people like Gordon Ramsey and the likes. They plunge in their personalities to the discipline of the industrial crafts. Though many may think that some lack the depth or flesh of the industry knowlege! Last but not least, (3) publicity must play an important role. You make create an awareness of yourself as an expert. People must know you. I wonder though, can someone who understands briefly the journalism industry and has just been congratulated by a local newspaper as BEST CIVIC JOURNALIST because of a story a gogo who jogs 30km every morning, be granted a platform to express themselves as industry experts in the presence of Raymond Louw, Dr D, Anton Harber and the likes as his audience? Can they stand the heat in this kitchen? If they cannot, what then is the exempt and legitimate stance that qualifies one as an expert?
