Down County Scór na nÓg Final St Colmans College in Newry provided the perfect setting for the Down County Scór na nÓg Final on Sunday afternoon. The hall was packed and the competitions were of the highest standard. Down County Chairman Seamus Walsh congratulated all competitors for taking part in a wonderful afternoon of high class entertainment . He expressed thanks to all those working hard to promote our music, song, dance and language at club and County level. A special word of thanks was express to Mr Cormac McKinney Principal St Colmans college and his staff for the use of such a great facilities. County Cultural officer also congratulated all involved in making the County Final such a success. To all the children that took part in the County Final her message was very clear, You are all winners for getting to this stage. Success in Scór is better meassured by the friends you make than the medals you win. Be delighted with how well you all have done for getting to this event. Best wishes was offered by all to the newly crowned County Champions who will take to the stage in Ulster Semi Final in Banbridge Parish Centre on 12th December starting at 8pm. Ballyholland topped the honors list claiming three of the seven titles. Ceili & Set dancing went to the same 8 dancers and new star this year Brennan McAloon in the Recitation. Glenn were also high up in the prizes with Danielle Flanagan claiming solo singing and her other 4 club mates winning Ballad group. Clonduff were announced winners in Leíruí competition much to the delight of their many supporters and St Pauls very talented music Group won the Instrumental music section
