Down from His Glory; Everliving story My God and Savior came and Jesus was His name Born in a manger; to His own a stranger A man of sorrow, tears, and agony O, how I love Him; How I adore Him My breath, my sunshine, my All in All The great Creator became my Savior And all Gods fullness dwelleth in Him! The song, Down From His Glory, was written by William Booth-Clibborn, a grandson of William Booth, the creator of the Salvation Army. The melody is sung to the tune of, O Sole Mio. I remember meeting & accompanying him on the piano as he sang and played the violin, at a Pentecostal Missouri camp grounds, outside the state capital, Jefferson City. I was 14 years old and have not forgotten the powerful words and the unique character of the composer.
