Friends, it saddens me when a person who sells themselves as a mentor, a tutor, a teacher or advocate for those who need extra help with learning, resorts to trickery as a means to surmount hurdles. The POINT of learning is to seek truth. How does a teacher or tutor justify using lies or deceit to sell something? For example, when tutor, Stacey A. Trapani-Barber wanted to get the word out about her new APP, she knew that ordinary word of mouth, ( clients , friends, family) wouldnt be enough. To drive social media traffic, you need a true social campaign, and everyone knows a social media campaign wont work without an incentive. So Stacey decided to advertise that she was holding a random contest to drive facebook traffic. She would be giving away an ipad to one fan for sharing and spreading the word. She stated many times, that the contest was open to everyone. Some background: ABA Tutor is a unique Discrete Trial Teaching (DTT) Mobile App which uses voice recognition software to increase your childs speech development. Company Overview ABA Tutor is owned by Traber, LLC Traber LLC is owned by one Stacey A. Trapani-Barber, LMHC,L-BCBA President traberllc/about.html traberllc (expect the content of these links to be altered after this post. Thats why i took screenshots) Stacey held a contest to win an ipad, hoping to use the talent and resources of sweepers and social media gurus to bring traffic to her page. She stated that likes and shares were a means of entry. ( disregarding Facebook policy, but we all know how that goes) Only about 160 people participated. There were quite a few things about the way she went about it that were curious. To begin with, she kept mentioning that most of her fans were locals, so a local might win, but assured everyone the contest was open to all, and anyone could win. After this odd announcement, the contest post was deleted from the page and a picture of a box with tiny bits of paper appears on the page. It was very curious that a supposed APP developer chose to pick names out of box, rather than use an APP ( the standard way of choosing ) to pick a winner. It was equally curious that the original contest post suddenly disappeared off the fan page before the winner was chosen. How could anyone see who had entered? But slightly odd made an ugly turn and became outright suspicious when she chose to videotape her random pick: of little pieces of paper in box . We blew the pic up and saw several names that couldnt be found anywhere in the pool of hard working entrants liking/sharing/ and spreading news about her APP. Sure enough out popped a name no one ever saw participate during the many weeks of the campaign. Jo Cicale. What Stacey didnt realize is that when sweepers compete, they pay attention to who their competition is. There was a Stacey A. Trapani-Barber, ( the owner) who commented and shared as though she were a contestant. And there was a Jo Cicale friend bantering with her before the contest began. Pics below. The friend or client did not comment or share once during the competition ( the only requirement for entry, according to her stated rules. ) Meanwhile, others shared, commented and posted daily, but Jo, whom she clearly knows personally, did not. Jo Cicale https://facebook/jo.galantecicale/friends Jo Galante Cicale Shame on you, Stacey. I think Ill trust the education of my children to someone with a better understanding of ethics. ABA TUTOR page for contest- NOT recommended . Of course the choice is up to you.
