Dr. Adnan Ibrahim - Read and Read and Read till the Last Breath, till Death If we were told to seek Allah’s refuge from one thing, only one thing, we would say ignorance. Ignorance is the cause of disbelief, ignorance is the cause of disease, ignorance is the cause of fanaticism, and a cause for hatred, disagreement and hostility. Ignorance is the cause and root of all evils God forbid, thus the first word in this seal of religions is ‘Read’, you have to read. He did not say think, because you will think within a framework within the prevalent and the common, you will be imprisoned and confined to certain frameworks without much benefit. This is what most of the fanatics and ignorant do, they think but within what is allowed and what is given. They put the cart before the horse when they want to prove a certain something by saying’ I think’. You are thinking within a frame in which you are imprisoned. Thus brothers, an advice to myself first and then to my brothers, read, and read and read and read till the last breath, in all honesty, till death, as we say in Arabic ‘from the inkwell to the cemetery’, so that you may speak well. To enable you to be well versed and respected by wise people, the learned and the great, you have to read and read and read till death. As for knowing two or three bits of information, watch a documentary, read a report in a daily news paper and then start talking thinking than you can understand the facts that are as firm as the mountains, this is child play and not the way of a respectable researcher making statements that can be respected and appreciated. Why do I say this? I say this out of concern for the facts, out of concern for the constitution of scientific research and out of concern for the honour of the word, the word that has now become very cheap. The word has become very cheap in the era of the net, where anyone can have a page or facebook and talk about minor and major affairs. Nothing will remain from this talk only that which benefits the people, what remains is only that which meets the requirements dear brothers, requirements of true nearness to truth, rigorous scientific proximity to truth remains. It will remain the closer it is to truth, and will dissolve and fade the further it is from truth and the more it lacks seriousness, thus may one speak as he wishes about what he wishes. The divine Law, divine way will govern all, ‘For the scum disappears like forth cast out; while that which is for the good of mankind remains on the earth’ this is a divine example which bespeaks a cosmic law. https://youtube/watch?v=mC2fRZOkEpE
