Dr. Coleman just called me about Wannyas results. She was officially done working at the vets office at 2, but shes so wonderful, she had to make sure she handled this. He does, however, have a different mycoplasma parasite called haemominutum. Shes a little worried about this, because it doesnt usually cause clinical signs and shes hoping were not going down the wrong path. Well get him started on the doxycycline, but she wants his blood checked again to see if the anemia has resolved in a months time (thats how long he has to take this med). I am finding papers, though, that say that feline infectious anemia can be caused from infection by Mycoplasma haemofelis or by Mycoplasma haemominutum (Batman had first; Wannya has second).
