Dr Grace Mugabe: The fall of Dr Mujuru? The rise of Dr Grace Marufu Mugabe reminds me of the quote which says Chess involves a struggle of will, and it contains what has been termed the essentials of fighting - to strike, to move and to protect. The strike was the Mazoe endorsement to the apex of the Zanu Pf Womens League. The move was the acceptance of the endorsement and the protection are the thank you rallies. In the ideal state of affairs, moves should always do at least two things in concert: foil our opponents aims while fostering ours. We cant do either properly if we do only one, and both can be accomplished by first assessing what the other player has done. There is need for the opposing force to analyse before giving a counter on the moves done so far by Dr Grace Mugabe, but it is very hard to counter considering she is the the first lady. In-spite of this chess truth, one of the most common mistakes politicians make is to try an idea independent of the circumstances, from a narrow point of view. Of course its daunting to look from other or wider perspectives. There are so many changing relationships to monitor in politics. No wonder political novices concentrate mainly on their own forces. Dr Grace will need to look at every move of her opponents. Napoleon Bonaparte argues that, “a leader has a right to be beaten, but never the right to be surprised.” There is no way one could expect the President Robert Mugabe would fail to prepare for congress, else he would prepare to fail. That is the reason why the Queen was made to use in the political chess game. Dr Grace Mugabe is part of the congress preparations for the mature Zanu PF leader. The moral of my story is to tell you the young politician to play the chess game more often to teach you more about politics. I will list some benefits of chess below: 1. Chess will benefit your creativity. 2. Concentration will improve as you play chess. 3. Logical thought will dominate your thinking. 4. Problem solving will improve. 5. Importance of sacrifice becomes a part of your life. 6. In politics you have many options and your decision making ability improves with the chess game. In conclusion I will alert you to the huge sacrifice that has been done by Oppah Muchinguri. She gave away her status of being the Zanu Pf Women’s League Boss, to Dr Grace Mugabe. This is a big gamble, because, is she sure of the opportunity to win the bigger position at the December 2014 congress. I am sure that it’s a good chess strategy of sacrifice.
