Dr. Marie Kelly Dr. Kelly is a very active member in the optometric and business community in promoting continuing education for ophthalmologists, optometrists, local family physicians, occupational therapists, physical therapists, psychologists, and teachers. She has headed several organizations including the Optometric Extension Program’s Southeast Vision Forum (which encompasses the Southeastern United States) in 1995 and 1996. In addition to organizing the educational programs for the optometrists, she has also lectured at the forum and guest lectured at several colleges, universities, local schools, and community organizations. Dr. Kelly has lectured on the following topics: Taking a Holistic Approach to Concussions, Children’s Vision, Developmental Vision, Sports Vision, Ocular Motility and Ocular Mobility, Maple Syrup Urine Disease, Educator’s Guide to Visual-Related Learning Problems, and Dyslexia. She recently guest lectured at Southern College of Optometry, Tennessee Association of Optometric Physicians Convention and at the Fort Campbell Kentucky TBI Center.. She advises educators on how to spot vision-related learning problems and addressed issues of visual problems associated with dyslexia. Dr. Kelly helped educators create a vision friendly atmosphere in the classroom. Dr. Kelly is a big promoter in Glaucoma Screenings and has chaired The Goodlettsville Chamber of Commerce Health and Wellness Fair for many years. She was an advisory board member for Eye Health Partners (which encompasses over 200 referring doctors). and to the Tennessee Association of Optometric Physicians.
