Dr Mbama had never believed in miracles. For him, life is an example of casualty. Cause and effect. You work, you eat. You play, you stay hungry. When youre born blind, you stay blind. And if you do not study, you dont pass. Just a give and take thing, this life, and that was how he understood life. And he grew up having those beliefs. He never cared much for activities in the Church. He only attended atall because he didnt have the time to explain to people that they do not share the same beliefs, but right in front of him stood his son, raised from the dead, or so it would seem. Samson my son Yes Dad What happened son? Its a long story dad Come here my boy Samson stood up and went to his Father. Dr Mbama stood up too and they both enveloped themselves in a warm embrace. Tears were dripping down their eyes. Such Joy, such happiness. Afam and Silencer just sat and watched as though it were some big movie. Afam silently wished her dad would suddenly appear like that. Shes grown up without a Dad, no brothers and sisters. She sometimes wondered what it felt like to have a brother. He once suggested to her mum to marry again but she told her she cant fall in Love with another man. Emeka was her one and only love. God shouldnt have let them kill him. Silencer noticed that Afam was shedding tears, so he quickly bade Father and Son farewell promising to visit again for details of how Ghosts became Mortals. He and Samson shook hands and he left with Afam, who rested her head on his shoulders as they disappeared from the office.
