Dr. Otis Moss III just messed me up as he was preaching. He was telling the story about a funeral that they had at Trinity where a young man was killed and another was rendered a quad. He said that the young mans clique disrupted the svc with their rants vowing vengeance etc and it was hard for anyone to regain the calmness until the Mom stood up. She said that she sees everyone is hollering about being her sons and that young mans ride or die and that is good but she wants to see who really is going to be her sons ride or die after the service is over. She wants to see who is going to come by her house and change his colostomy bag, wash clothes and help her with him. Dr. Moss said that the whole church was put on mute! He said everyone took a seat and was silent after she made that statement. This story took me back to when King David in 2 Samuel 23:8-39 and his Mighty Men were engaged in battle. Josheb-Basshebeth had a group of cheerleaders behind him when he slew 800 men all by his lonesome. Then there was Eleazar who thought that the same was going to be true for him but when his time came came to battle, the cheerleaders made like ghost and had disappeared! Aha but just like God, He froze Eleazars sword to his hand and caused him to be victorious. All the cheerleaders did was come behind him, clean up and enjoy the spoil. Listen Fam, there are many terms that we have watered down and often misconstrued. If we state that we are going to be someones ride of die, then we need to be that in deed and not just lip svc. When we say that we are going to pray, sometimes we need to stop right there and pray bc more than likely we will forget. I learned a hard lesson when I was forced into retirement 7 years ago. I saw who my REAL RIDERZ were. As time went on ppl got scarce and yanno what, I am not bitter anymore bc I see why they had to move around. I thank them for the part that they played in my life at that particular season. Seasons end. We need to not become so attached that we prolong and hinder the move of God. We need to be able to distinguish btwn Confidants, Comrades and Constituents. Right now God needs some ppl that are willing to submit to being a servant. Who do not mind getting out there on the battle field w/o any incentives or personal perks but to advance the Kingdom. God is raising that REMNANT, those HG FIRE BAPTIZED RIDERZ who are gonna wage war and KEEP that SWORD frozen to their hands. FB FAM who among you out there can say, YES LORD, here I am use me. Freeze that sword to my hand as I RIDE or DIE 4 the KINGDOM!
