Snake and Jake’s- This can’t even be described as a “Dive Bar” It’s literally a garage on a residential street in Uptown near the Tulane undergrad campus with Christmas lights twinkling year round. The bar menu varies by the night. It’s basically “whatever beer or booze we have.” And you won’t find it without being told about it-it’s that obscure. Great fun, though. Many celebrities have darkened the door-Bruce Springsteen, Harry Shearer, Alec Baldwin, and James Carville have all tossed back a few here, elbow to elbow with Tulane students and neighborhood residents. Dr Rusty’s story: 2011-He drove by 3 times looking for it, despite having the address and directions. When he finally found it, a drunken Nicholas Cage stumbled out as he went in.
