Drake our pup that was abandon in a warehouse with a condition - TopicsExpress

Drake our pup that was abandon in a warehouse with a condition known as hemivertebrae has made it to his awesome foster .. He is a bit worse than expected .. His front feet are also deformed with only 3 toes on each foot .. His back legs like our Emma & Lacy are extended out and almost fused together and do not flex at all which is typical of the condition but likely due to him not having much interaction and spending most of his time laying down unlike Emma and Lacy who can run and play and keep up with the others because they are able to bring their back legs up under them in a standing position somewhat , Drakes are completely tucked under him so much so that his back feet touch his chin .. I will speak with foster this afternoon about starting some therapy for him to get him up into a better a position. . Also like Emma his front legs go out further to side making it even more difficult for him to pull himself .. He also has a really bad rash and sores due to dragging and not having any bladder or bowel control and not having anyone to express him while locked in warehouse he was constantly leaking and had a full bladder and bowel ... we will start him on a treatment and therapy plan.. because there is no physical therapy to cure this condition and things like hydro therapy and such can cause more harm than good and wheel chairs do not work well ( we have already even tried with special made ones fitted for our pups with this condition sadly due to all the issues with front legs and straining causing other issues) we know he will never be up and running like a normal pup but like our Emma and Lacy we know we can get him to a point of having a good quality of life .. we will also be getting him stockings and drag bags to prevent further harm to his legs and back end from dragging .. donations towards his care and others like him can be made through our website snarranimalrescue.org via PayPal using email snarr_1@yahoo or mailed to Po Box 313 saint Martinville La payable to SNARR .. we appreciate any help right now no matter how little ..we are really over loaded right now and without the help of our followers we would not be able to continue on our mission of Given hope to the hopeless..
