Dramatic, decisive victory for Turkeys PM Erdogan in local elections seen as referendum on his continued leadership. The opposition parties were left behind in the dust. Western media dislikes Erdogan, but Turks think hes their best-ever leader. Erdogans victory comes despite an intensive campaign of subversion, faked recordings on social media, and disinformation that almost amounted to a coup. Outside powers, media and financial groups were deeply involved in the effort to effect regime change in Turkey. Erdogan could cement his triumph is he can disengage Turkey from its foolish involvement in Syrias civil war.
