Draughtsperson Our client is an established Cambridge (UK), bespoke engineering and automation business to handling innovation, system design & manufacture, sales & marketing and delivery of special purpose machinery. Our client also provides consultancy, prototypes, technology demonstrators, bench top test units through to fully automated production machines. Having supplied over 1000 bespoke engineering solutions our client is regarded as industry experts with an innovative approach, and are well placed to serve the pharmaceutical, medical device, electronic and other technology driven markets. The Role: You will support the multi-disciplinary engineering team in assisting with the design and providing detailed drawings, BOMs and other documentation. You must have good knowledge of 3D CAD, be accurate and have experience of mechanical design. Experience of electrical drawing would be advantageous. This role will require a flexible hands-on approach. Typical Work Activities Include: • Undertake duties within a multidiscipline engineering drawing office • Be responsible for the progress of concept designs from part and assembly modelling through to detailed drawings • Production of general assembly, detail, procedural and system schematic drawings • Preparation of bills materials and purchase requisitions • Be proactive in the development of the drawing office system improvement initiatives • Checking of drawings • Preparation of basic calculations and hand calculations Requirements: • Appropriate engineering/CAD qualifications or experience as a design draughtsperson within an engineering environment • 3D CAD package experience (SolidWorks) • Familiar with British Standard drawing practices (Dimensions, tolerances, limits and fits) • Full UK driving licence Huxley Bertram Engineering is committed to developing its employees and has a flexible policy for individual capabilities and preferences.
