Drinking a Guinness, packing up my suitcases, and preparing Donut and Sprinkles for another journey overseas. Tomorrow Ill be leaving Ireland, and with every new memory Ive made these past few weeks Ive felt a lingering sense of sadness for my premature departure. This country and its people are wonderful. Im incredibly excited for my return to Crystal Dynamics and the Tomb Raider community, but moving to Dublin was even more life-changing than I could have expected. Im returning home stronger, more confident, and with a new perspective of the world and my place within it. Some of my fears of moving across the world alone were valid. Some were not. But in facing them Ive developed a deeper understanding of what Im capable of, and I wont allow myself to return to regularly scheduled programming upon my arrival home. I want to continue pushing my boundaries and challenging myself, never forgetting that there are much worse things in life than being afraid or uncomfortable. Letting fear keep you from experiencing what the world has to offer - both the good and the bad, the heartwarming and heart-wrenching - is a much more real threat to properly living life. So Im going to continue to live my life as a reflection of the change Id like to see in the world. But now Ill do so with renewed vigor, passion, and hope for the future. Thank you, Dublin.
