Drinks on a stage is bullshit. Besides, if a band is starting songs right after a song ends, when are you drinking that? Cause I dont wait for someone who is sipping on a drink so that I can start a song. I have a had a lot of arguments on this subject, and two things come to mind: One, a guy that I once asked not bring his beer onstage wounding spilling into the P.A. monitor, with the result being actual flames coming out of the monitor eventually. The 2nd is the fact that the best live shows I remember in Chicago were from Howard Scott and The World Band. 45 minutes sets with NO time between songs, but instead, short musical interludes that connected one song to the next, segues. Killer effect, and a LOT MORE entertaining than watching a drummer or bass player gulp beer. One guy told me, I cant go 45 minutes without something to drink. REALLY? Cause Ive seen 5 year olds do it on long car trips with less whining. Not the type of guys you wanna go to war with, For Christ sakes, get a CLUE, it is NOT ABOUT YOU and YOUR DRINKING ON THE GIG. It is the entertainment business. Take the amateur shit back to your moms basement, cause nobody in the real world wants to see it. We arent 22 and playing Alternative music. Want to play blues? Then respect it goddamnit and respect the people paying money to see it and respect the owners who are paying you, and RESPECT YOURSELF for chrissakes!
