Drishyansha, A Nationwide Cell Phone Short Film Competition, organized by Sarwanam Theatre and 360 Degree Mountain Films and sponsered by Neo was conducted in Sarwanam Theatre this Monday, 29 September 2014. Top 10 films made by different mobile phones, selected by the esteemed jury of Ashesh Malla (renowned theatre personality), Abinash Bikram Shah (film maker and writer), Phulman Bal (journalist and art critic) and Asif Shah (film maker and music video director) were screened in the event. The competition received 650 film entries from Nepalese around Nepal and abroad like Malaysia, USA, UK and Dubai. The 1st prize was given to Mr. Sweekar Sahn for his film, Maanis Harayeko Suchana, made by Iphone. He received a Dell Laptop and 3 months theatre training from Sarwanam Theatre. The 2nd prize was given to Mr Sudip Shrestha for his film, Aash, made by Samsung, while the 3rd prize was given to Nawabijay Shrestha for his film, Gathaso. Both received a 10 inch Neo Tablet and 3 months theatre training from Sarwanam Theatre. The other 7 selected films were Nihal Rana (Kancha), Barsha Shrestha (White Shoes), Sabina Gopali (Paradise), Ujwol Satyal (Baakas), Ankit K.C (Ek Kitab), Monica Adhikari (Transitions of Life) and Jason Rai (Adhuro Sapana). All received a Certificate of Appreciation and 3 Months Theatre Training from Sarwanam Theatre. The prize and certificates to the top 10 were given by distinguished and popular personalities- Yadav Kharel (Renowned Film maker), Rabin Sharma (Renowned Singer), Nischal Basnet (Film maker), Tshering Ritar Sherpa (Film- maker), Kapil Shrestha (Human Rights Activist), Usha Sherchan (Poet), Rajendra Shalab (Film- maker), Akash Adhikari (Film- maker), Rabindra Mishra (Journalist) and Ravina Deshraj Shrestha (Banker).
