Drivers who kill while already disqualified are to face up to ten - TopicsExpress

Drivers who kill while already disqualified are to face up to ten years in jail. This is five times longer than the current maximum sentence. The government said it was bringing in the changes after listening to concerns raised by victims families. Justice Secretary Chris Grayling is also introducing a new offence of causing serious injury while banned from driving, carrying a maximum four-year term. Mr Grayling said the changes would send a clear message to drivers who flout bans and ‘go on to destroy innocent lives’.
