Driving home from our family camping trip to Dinkey Creek. Weather was beautiful. Before the trip I gave myself a PSR (personal survival rating) of 8.3. I was in YLO for two weeks as a young kid and I attribute most of my survival skills to endless nights of watching NAKED and AFRAID on the Discovery Channel. Welp after trying to start a fire by hand for 30 min unsuccessfully I gave up and used a lighter. I hiked and jumped off a 30 foot cliff to which my sister replied whoa hitting me with some ninja warrior moves all was well...then night fall came. As I lay in my tent hearing sketchy sounds from every direction I couldnt help but to replay scenes from the Blair Witch project, the movie that single handedly ruined my childhood forever. Finally after hours of not being able to sleep and my homemade fire torch within reach (a handheld lighter and some AX spray) I prayed that day would break soon. I reached for my phone hoping to see 5am and instead saw 12:40. My soul broke into many pieces at that moment. Anyways we survived the night and it looks like we just arent the camping kind of family. I was re evaluated and given a PSR of 2.4. I did the reevaluation.
