Dropped my first grader with asd off at school this am, tried to get ten mins of teachers time to tell her what she needs to know about him. She asks if I made appt for meeting with them to discuss his asd. I said it is in two weeks. I said he needs an ea at least part time, needs help in bathroom, and needs sensory breaks if he is overwhelmed. She said that would be difficult as she is alone with 21 kids. I wanted to say no shit, in front of what I did say. I said that is why I asked for this meeting to occur before school started. i handed her his sensory survival kit and said he has special pencils and tools in here to help him and his weighted lap pad is in here, she took the bag and popped it in a closet. I said good luck, so far he is having a bad day. Friggin schoolsystem sucks!
