Drove home in the monsoon (not too bad) and CBS-FM treated me to Laura Branigans Gloria, which triggered a nice memory. I went to Atlantic Records in 1982 to interview Laura. Gloria was already a huge club hit but was just breaking on the radio. We were alone in a snazzy conference room, big table, amazing stereo system and she asked if she could put on WKTU in case they played her record. I said that was fine with me. Ten minutes later it came on and she turned it way up. I urged her to sing along with it. The sound system in there was INTENSE and she jumped up on the conference table, singing along with the radio, dancing etc. while I sat there cheering her on.
