Drove over 200 km today in the greater Edmonton area and during such an adventure I observed many things. The one which struck me the most was that in spite of the terrible weather it wasnt necessarily the conditions which made things dangerous. My foremost observation was that it was primarily the lack of precaution taken from the average motorist. It seems that when the weather turns foul people tend to loose their senses and sub-par drivers become reckless maniacs. This is Alberta and it snows. If youre going to live and drive in a place where it snows then common sense would dictate that its a good idea to plan ahead and take measures which will appropriately equip your vehicle to deal with such conditions... as well as know basic traffic law. It not only saves you a world of frustration, it allows for a safer commute for everyone. You can choose to take this as either as a rant or a tidbit of wisdom...Either way you slice it if your travelling tonight make sure to stay safe! Winter has arrived.
