Drug Arrested Made in Taft, $1600 Cash and 400 grams of methamphetamine Seized by Police for On August 30, 2014 just before 1:00 P.M., officers from the Taft Police Department conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a minor equipment violation. The vehicle was being driven by a 52 year old female identified as Georgette Call of Taft, who was also the registered owner of the vehicle. During the traffic stop, the officer saw some suspicious material contained in plastic bags. Upon further investigation, over 400 grams of suspected methamphetamine and over $1,600.00 in cash were removed from the vehicle, along with evidence of narcotic sales including a scale and packaging. Georgette Call, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle, was taken into custody. The suspected methamphetamine has an estimated street value of approximately $40,000.00. Officers later obtained a search warrant for Call’s residence, at 101 Fillmore St. in Taft. During the search of the residence, a small amount of methamphetamine was located (about 2 grams), along with additional evidence of drug sale activity. Georgette Call was booked into the Taft Jail on charges including Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of a Controlled Substance for Sale, and Transportation of a Controlled Substance.
