Dt 32:26 I said, I would scatter them into corners, I would make - TopicsExpress

Dt 32:26 I said, I would scatter them into corners, I would make the remembrance of them to cease from among men: 27 Were it not that I feared the wrath of the enemy, lest their adversaries should behave themselves strangely, and lest they should say, Our hand is high, and the LORD hath not done all this. 28 For they are a nation void of counsel, neither is there any understanding in them. 29 O that they were wise, that they understood this, that they would consider their latter end! 30 How should one chase a thousand, and two put ten thousand to flight, except their Rock had sold them, and the LORD had shut them up? 31 For their rock is not as our Rock, even our enemies themselves being judges. 32 For their vine is of the vine of Sodom, and of the fields of Gomorrah: their grapes are grapes of gall, their clusters are bitter: 33 Their wine is the poison of dragons, and the cruel venom of asps. 34 Is not this laid up in store with me, and sealed up among my treasures? 35 To me belongeth vengeance, and recompence; their foot shall slide in due time: for the day of their calamity is at hand, and the things that shall come upon them make haste. 36 For the LORD shall judge his people, and repent himself for his servants, when he seeth that their power is gone, and there is none shut up, or left. 37 And he shall say, Where are their gods, their rock in whom they trusted, 38 Which did eat the fat of their sacrifices, and drank the wine of their drink offerings? let them rise up and help you, and be your protection. K so at first glance this may be a hard bit to cover but lets see what happens - So most likely YHVH is talking in the beginning of this section after saying in the last that He would send curses among them - so He said He would scatter them so that people forget their former fame & glory that they had when He was on their side. But then the 27th verse has this hard bit - it appears God is saying that He fears the wrath of the enemy - Well it is not like our God fears getting spanked by the enemy, but as the section goes on to say what God doesnt want is for the enemies of His people to think that they are destroying them because of any good thing about themselves compared to because YHVH wanted them to. Hence the arrows in a recent bit was most likely not referring to adopted children doing the judging of the Hebrews. Isa 42:8 I am the LORD: that is my name: and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images. - One of Gods pet peeves is when we here on earth do not give Him the appropriate amount of credit for everything in our lives - Rom 1:21 Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. 22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, 23 And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things. - the minute we stop giving YHVH the credit for everything in our lives we are giving it to something else or taking it for ourselves. God will not give His glory to another so whatever you are giving His glory to in your life needs to be eliminated off of your list of things you give glory to so that you can give it to Him like you are supposed to. So when God feared the wrath of the enemy what He was really concerned about was them taking credit for His work of cursing the people of Israel. The 28th verse is saying that the people who are taking Gods credit for being able to destroy the people will conclude it is because they are stupid. The 29th verse YHVH is saying He wishes that His people were wise & understood some basic things like where their road without Him is taking them & that there is no way a single man can chase away a thousand enemies & 2 cause 10 thousand of them to run away like scared chickens unless He their Rock had Sold: 4376 מָכַר [makar /maw·kar/] v. A primitive root; TWOT 1194; GK 4835; 80 occurrences; AV translates as “sell” 75 times, “seller” four times, and “at all” once. 1 to sell. 1a (Qal). 1a1 to sell. 1a2 seller (participle). 1b (Niphal). 1b1 to be sold. 1b2 to sell oneself. 1b3 to be given over to death. 1c (Hithpael) to sell oneself. So this was pointing to Rom 6:3 Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? 4 Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. 5 For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection: 6 Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin. 7 For he that is dead is freed from sin. 8 Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him: & Gal 2:20 I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me. - among other things. Shut up: 5462 סָגוּר, סָגַר, סָגָר [cagar /saw·gar/] v. A primitive root; TWOT 1462; GK 6034 and 6037 and 6038; 91 occurrences; AV translates as “shut” 40 times, “shut up” 12 times, “deliver” nine times, “pure” eight times, “deliver up” seven times, “shut in” three times, “give up” twice, “gave over” twice, “inclosed” once, “repaired” once, “closed” once, “shutting” once, “stop” once, “straitly” once, “together” once, and “close up” once. 1 to shut, close. 1a (Qal). 1a1 to shut. 1a2 to close, close up. 1a3 closed up, closely joined, shut up. 1b (Niphal). 1b1 to be shut up. 1b2 to be shut or closed. 1c (Piel) to shut up, deliver up. 1d (Pual) to be shut up. 1e (Hiphil). 1e1 to deliver up. 1e2 to shut up, imprison. - OK well deliver to prison - ummm 1 Cor 7:22 For he that is called in the Lord, being a servant, is the Lord’s freeman: likewise also he that is called, being free, is Christ’s servant. - Mt 11:28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light. - Because straitly was in there i got a flash on this one - Mt 7:13 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: 14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. K so the sold bit is another way to look at when we say He bought us back or redeemed us from sin & the shut up bit means 91 Ps 1 He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. - a close relationship with God will keep you on the straight path that leads to life & you will be shut in from all sorts of harmful things in the world that is what being in the world but not of the world is about; being in the world but shut in to the things of Jesus at the same time. That is why we seen the verse about come out from among them & be ye separate (2 Cor 6:17) a few times by now too. The thing is that the Christian lifestyle is supposed to be just that - a lifestyle & so our whole life long after we meet Jesus we are supposed to be focused on doing things to promote His kingdom here on earth, even while we are doing other things like working; finding opportunities to share our values & concerns with other people can be a benefit to society & not involve any scripture bashing. Of course when you tell them something poignant & they say That is so true! that gives you an opening to tell them the scripture you learned it from. Well perhaps you heard a term that goes Sold out for Jesus which means ur kinda like a zealot as far as always going on about Him to the point of being irritating to the people who are not - thats how all the Christians are supposed to be sold out for Jesus because we should know that famous passage - Rev 3:15 I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot. 16 So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth. Heh some people think the OT has nothing to teach them but here we just learned that the key to accessing the awesome miracle power of God to be able to handle any overwhelming situation & have thousands of people who are your enemy be impotent before you is to be sold out for Jesus & find a friend who is too. Well if it is that simple why isnt everybody doing it? Well because the awesome miracle power of God doesnt come on our command & sometimes we dont see it in the way it manifests - 2 Cor 1:3 Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort; 4 Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God. 5 For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so our consolation also aboundeth by Christ. 6 And whether we be afflicted, it is for your consolation and salvation, which is effectual in the enduring of the same sufferings which we also suffer: or whether we be comforted, it is for your consolation and salvation. 7 And our hope of you is stedfast, knowing, that as ye are partakers of the sufferings, so shall ye be also of the consolation. 8 For we would not, brethren, have you ignorant of our trouble which came to us in Asia, that we were pressed out of measure, above strength, insomuch that we despaired even of life: 9 But we had the sentence of death in ourselves, that we should not trust in ourselves, but in God which raiseth the dead: 10 Who delivered us from so great a death, and doth deliver: in whom we trust that he will yet deliver us; - As this one says that sometimes the awesome miracle power of God is manifested in us surviving hard times. It is easy but not everybody is interested in doing it - Jas 1:2 My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; 3 Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. 4 But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing. - all i know is for years i refused to pray for patience because in order to get it you have to go through trials - who wants the stress of trials? It is easy but not everybody has the intestinal fortitude to be able to walk the straight path & that is why so many are on the broad one because it is not as demanding of us. That road is a do whatever you want & dont worry about anything road & the end of it are the ways of death. So maybe Moses started in talking during the 29th verse but if not it looks like he is now in the 31st verse even if YHVH is teaching him this song - so if not from the perspective of YHVH this & possibly the last comment were made from the perspective of man during YHVHs song. Their rock is not as our rock - now unless the perspective is from Christ who is the rock worshiping His father while being our brother is why i suggest the comment is from the perspective or man in general & Moses in particular perhaps. Even our enemies are judging that YHVH is better than all the false gods - Dan 3:28 Then Nebuchadnezzar spake, and said, Blessed be the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, who hath sent his angel, and delivered his servants that trusted in him, and have changed the king’s word, and yielded their bodies, that they might not serve nor worship any god, except their own God. 29 Therefore I make a decree, That every people, nation, and language, which speak any thing amiss against the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, shall be cut in pieces, and their houses shall be made a dunghill: because there is no other God that can deliver after this sort. - Well if you have a real relationship with the one true God of the universe & He is working in your life your enemies will take notice even if you dont know that they know. Verse 32 & 33 are saying that their fruits (behavior & children) are all bad so most likely YHVH is back to speaking now. Wine being a symbol of their blood seal of their covenant with Him being poisonous means that is is also bad. Hence one of the reasons that circumcision is not as important during the new covenant because Jesus blood even replaces our need to shed our own to enter the covenant now. Gal 5:6 For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision; but faith which worketh by love.; 6:15 For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision, but a new creature. & Col 2:11 In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ: 12 Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead. 13 And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses; 14 Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross; 15 And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it. So when Ezek 11:19 And I will give them one heart, and I will put a new spirit within you; and I will take the stony heart out of their flesh, and will give them an heart of flesh: 20 That they may walk in my statutes, and keep mine ordinances, and do them: and they shall be my people, and I will be their God. is fulfilled in our lives at the same time this one is happening 2 Cor 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. Because we were born again & baptized by the Holy Spirit then we should be getting the circumcision made without hands at the same time. The 34th verse is saying that God is keeping track of all our misdeeds - 139 Ps 16 Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect; and in thy book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them. - this verse says God already wrote it down before you were born because He can see the future. Rev 22:12 And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be. - our works will be rewarded; whatever they are good or bad. Some people think that God automatically forgives us for all the bad ones we do after we meet Jesus - all i know is the next verse in this section says what? 35 To me belongeth vengeance, and recompence; their foot shall slide in due time: for the day of their calamity is at hand, and the things that shall come upon them make haste. 36 For the LORD shall judge his people, and repent himself for his servants, when he seeth that their power is gone, and there is none shut up, or left. YHVH will judge His people those of His who go astray will be punished hence all those curses we were looking at recently - this is why i am so scared of the once saved, always saved camp because it looks to me when i hear them preach that there is nothing about us living a holy life like the bible tells me to in their doctrine. Heb 10:28 He that despised Moses’ law died without mercy under two or three witnesses: 29 Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace? 30 For we know him that hath said, Vengeance belongeth unto me, I will recompense, saith the Lord. And again, The Lord shall judge his people. This same verse we are looking at now makes an appearance in the NT to tell us that the thoughts in it are still just as important now as when they were written - dont spit on the salvation Jesus gave you right in His face because vengeance belongeth to Him who gave it to you & He doesnt like it when we disrespect Him by disobeying Him. Well like i said that is why i dont run around calling myself saved because every single area of my life i dont obey God 24/7 & so until i am i dont have the confidence to call myself saved, but i do call myself following after the way because Jesus is my boss regardless how well or bad i obey Him. Repent: 5162 נָחַם [nacham /naw·kham/] v. A primitive root; TWOT 1344; GK 5714; 108 occurrences; AV translates as “comfort” 57 times, “repent” 41 times, “comforter” nine times, and “ease” once. 1 to be sorry, console oneself, repent, regret, comfort, be comforted. 1a (Niphal). 1a1 to be sorry, be moved to pity, have compassion. 1a2 to be sorry, rue, suffer grief, repent. 1a3 to comfort oneself, be comforted. 1a4 to comfort oneself, ease oneself. 1b (Piel) to comfort, console. 1c (Pual) to be comforted, be consoled. 1d (Hithpael). 1d1 to be sorry, have compassion. 1d2 to rue, repent of. 1d3 to comfort oneself, be comforted. 1d4 to ease oneself. So this one is not so much about God changing His mind compared to trying to comfort Himself & get over the fact that He lost some people that He invested time & energy into. Their power is gone so they have no relationship with Him to get any power & none is shut up in His Holy Ghost force field & there are none even left behind by all the evil ones for God to grab up to be on His side again. Verse 37 looks to be from the perspective of man again as it is saying that YHVH will say where are their false gods that they were trusting after doing all sorts of abominable sacrifices to them? Let those false gods help you when you need help now that your consequences for disobeying me are upon you - basically what they will learn is that there is no help coming as false gods always quit when you need them the most - 1 Kin 18:21 And Elijah came unto all the people, and said, How long halt ye between two opinions? if the LORD be God, follow him: but if Baal, then follow him. And the people answered him not a word. 22 Then said Elijah unto the people, I, even I only, remain a prophet of the LORD; but Baal’s prophets are four hundred and fifty men. 23 Let them therefore give us two bullocks; and let them choose one bullock for themselves, and cut it in pieces, and lay it on wood, and put no fire under: and I will dress the other bullock, and lay it on wood, and put no fire under: 24 And call ye on the name of your gods, and I will call on the name of the LORD: and the God that answereth by fire, let him be God. And all the people answered and said, It is well spoken. 25 And Elijah said unto the prophets of Baal, Choose you one bullock for yourselves, and dress it first; for ye are many; and call on the name of your gods, but put no fire under. 26 And they took the bullock which was given them, and they dressed it, and called on the name of Baal from morning even until noon, saying, O Baal, hear us. But there was no voice, nor any that answered. And they leaped upon the altar which was made. 27 And it came to pass at noon, that Elijah mocked them, and said, Cry aloud: for he is a god; either he is talking, or he is pursuing, or he is in a journey, or peradventure he sleepeth, and must be awaked. 28 And they cried aloud, and cut themselves after their manner with knives and lancets, till the blood gushed out upon them. 29 And it came to pass, when midday was past, and they prophesied until the time of the offering of the evening sacrifice, that there was neither voice, nor any to answer, nor any that regarded. 30 And Elijah said unto all the people, Come near unto me. And all the people came near unto him. And he repaired the altar of the LORD that was broken down. 31 And Elijah took twelve stones, according to the number of the tribes of the sons of Jacob, unto whom the word of the LORD came, saying, Israel shall be thy name: 32 And with the stones he built an altar in the name of the LORD: and he made a trench about the altar, as great as would contain two measures of seed. 33 And he put the wood in order, and cut the bullock in pieces, and laid him on the wood, and said, Fill four barrels with water, and pour it on the burnt sacrifice, and on the wood. 34 And he said, Do it the second time. And they did it the second time. And he said, Do it the third time. And they did it the third time. 35 And the water ran round about the altar; and he filled the trench also with water. 36 And it came to pass at the time of the offering of the evening sacrifice, that Elijah the prophet came near, and said, LORD God of Abraham, Isaac, and of Israel, let it be known this day that thou art God in Israel, and that I am thy servant, and that I have done all these things at thy word. 37 Hear me, O LORD, hear me, that this people may know that thou art the LORD God, and that thou hast turned their heart back again. 38 Then the fire of the LORD fell, and consumed the burnt sacrifice, and the wood, and the stones, and the dust, and licked up the water that was in the trench. 39 And when all the people saw it, they fell on their faces: and they said, The LORD, he is the God; the LORD, he is the God. 40 And Elijah said unto them, Take the prophets of Baal; let not one of them escape. And they took them: and Elijah brought them down to the brook Kishon, and slew them there. When it is time to have a showdown, the people who have a real relationship with the one true God of the universe have nothing to worry about & the servants of the false gods will wind up dead because their false gods will be too scared to show up to the battle to help them. People are not interested in the bible because they cant place it where the rubber meets the road so to speak & they think it has nothing to say to them for their daily life because it was written so long ago & talking to a bunch of people who are dead now - well they didnt read it much because a relationship with the author of the bible is all you need & if you have that then any circumstance you face will not be a problem as Gods solutions to our issues always find a way to where the rubber meets the road & we can see Him at work in our lives when we are obeying Him & His instructions. Well i showed you a passage from Jer 10 recently talking about false gods saying that it is not in them to do either evil or good they are just impotent things sitting there & only given a voice by their false prophets most of the time. Even when it is a fallen angel pretending to be a god because of the thought in Rom 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. - any evil they do will not be able to counteract Gods overall good plan that is in effect. So until next time let us pray that we stay faithfully by YHVHs side so that He doesnt have to make Himself feel better because we left Him to bring a stack of curses upon ourselves by worshiping some false god that cant help us.
