Dubai Desert Classic - The European Tour desert swing comes to a conclusion this week with the Dubai desert classic! What we know this week is that the greens will be quick and the shots will need to be super accurate with plenty of water in play on 10 holes! Firstly the E/W betting - Joost Luiten @ 33/1 - Luitens fourth-place showing at the season-ending DP World Tour Championship was just the start of a solid run, which has now included two more worldwide top-10 finishes, good form and worth a punt e/w. - Thorbjørn Olesen @25/1 - Olesen had a disappointing year after his fantastic T-6 at the Masters, however the Danes form has caught our attention. A tie for 3rd last week with four rounds in the 60s, if his putter gets hot he could be the man this week. - Branden Grace @ 35/1 - Began the year with a runner up at the Volvo, and was in contention right until the end last week. He ranked third for driving distance and 15th for greens hit, two very key stats this week. - Peter Hanson @ 40/1 - Played some good golf last week, with his length off the tee and very consistent putting he should be in contention come the weekend. He was ranked consistently in the top 10 over the final 3 days in Qatar for putts per round and putts per GIR. OUTRIGHT Garcia stole the show last week and thankfully we were on him outright, looking at the outright market this week proves a lot more of a challenge as there is a severe lack of value with the leading players, Woods looked very poor with his 79 in round three at Torrey Pines and although it would be very stupid to rule him out, i just dont think hes worth the risk. The only outright i half fancy is the pre-tournament favourite Rory Mcilroy, although Mcilroys odds are very poor @10/3 he has looked back to his old self so far this year with his driving being particular impressive! Rory should have won Abu Dhabi if not for that ridiculous drop penalty and he seems confident right now. His last four results here: T5, T10, T6, and 1st. However his odds are very short it may be worth while waiting a day or two before looking at the outright markets in-play Goodluck with whoever you back this week, the PGA tips will be out tomorrow evening.
