A spokesman from the museum said, “Our museum is always free to the public, and this summer we are saying a special thank you to active duty military families by participating in the Blue Star Museums program. Blue Star Museums is collaboration among the National Endowment for the Arts, Blue Star Families, the Department of Defense, and more than 2,000 museums across America to offer free admission to all active duty military personnel including National Guard and Reserve and their families from Memorial Day, May 27, through Labor Day, September 2, 2013. We are proud to be part of Blue Star Museums, which gives us a chance all summer long to thank our military families for their service and share with them America’s cultural treasures.” The complete list of participating museums is available at arts.gov/bluestarmuseums. The museum is open Tuesday through Friday from 10:00-2:00pm, Saturday from 10:00-4:00pm and Sunday 1:00-4:00pm. Closed on Monday. The Dubois County Museum is a local non profit organization committed to the collection, preservation and interpretation of historical artifacts and information important to the citizens of the county.
