Due to a family emergency and being out of town I missed the last - TopicsExpress

Due to a family emergency and being out of town I missed the last school board meeting, but was pleased with the Superintendent Report and the shout out to all our amazing actively involved parents becoming aware of the truth behind education reform!!! Finally I have to comment on news from the legislative front. We are now in what I would characterize as the 3rd quarter of the legislative session with the 4th quarter ending on Friday, May 30th. Look for some weighty changes in matters such as the Common Core Standards, A-F grading system, Reading Sufficiency Act and testing requirements for all grades. I have never seen parent activism at such a high level in my entire education career. Those of us in the education trenches have been begging for their participation for years in matters such as these and parents have finally stepped up to the plate to join us in making sure that we have an ‘education voice’ in modifying recent education reforms as well as future ones.
