Due to the difficulty of the SWEENEY TODD score (and the limited time we have been given) I will have to put in some extra SWEENEY rehearsals. A couple of weeks ago I mentioned (to YSBRYDOLIAETH members) this might be a possibility. I realise that some students have school exams but Im hoping these exam students will be able to make some of these rehearsals. The extra sessions will be on Thursday evenings at 5:45 - 6:45pm at the St. Johns Ambulance Hall, Griffithstown NP4 5AZ. These extra rehearsals with start on Thursday 22nd May, we will be in Llangollen for the Sunday 25th May. Then the next sessions will be after half term on Thursday 5th, then possibly 12th, 19th and 26th June if needed. Those with GCSE and A S level exams should of course concentrate on the school exams but the students involved in the SWEENEY TODD concert who do not have school exams this year should make sure they set aside time in this term to learn this score at home as there is a lot of difficulty in this music. The repetition of phrases that seem similar, makes it tricky to remember which phrases they have to sing in different bars. The children have worked very hard on this in the last few weeks and it is coming together but this is not the Schools version of this score and its tricky. Many thanks, Gabi x
