Duel Club Round 1: ‘You’re telling lies Dolores’, said Harry, the anger in him boiling over, ‘And you must never tell lies’. Shouts rang out as Hermione and Ron disarmed and stunned the bewildered Ministry officials. Harry raised his wand but Umbridge matched his speed. Her grubby fingers clenched around her wand as she screamed, ‘Crucio’. The spell missed Harry by inches as he dived to the floor throwing a Hex at Umbridge as he did so. Umbridge ducked behind her desk as Harry fired a stunner towards her head. ‘Potter! You insolent child!’, she shouted as a second stunner slammed into the wall behind her. Harry crouched low behind one of the benches in the courtroom. Down the line Ron was engaged in a furious battle with a member of the Magical Law Enforcement squad. He couldn’t see where Hermione was but the flashes of light and angry shouts told him she was duelling somewhere to his right. A loud bang close to his head brought his mind back to Umbridge. ‘Come out Potter’, Umbridge cackled. He could hear her footsteps as she circled the room, trying to get a better angle in which to curse him. His anger and Quidditch instincts kicked in as he sped from his hiding place. An all too familiar green filled the edge of his vision as he grimly realised that Umbridge was now trying to kill him. Turning to face her he lifted his wand, pointing at her right shoulder, ‘STUPEFY’. Umbridge blocked it but had to drop down once again as Harry sent another stunner at her. Barely peaking over her desk she fired a cutting hex that graze his arm, cutting his sleeve and causing his arm to bleed. That’s the last time she leaves a scar thought Harry as he held his arm. Using the spell he first saw used by his father, Umbridge was lifted off her feet with a fearful shriek. Harry swiftly disarmed her and paused, glaring at her as she hung upside down. ‘Harry’, yelled Ron, what the bloody hell are you doing? Half the Ministry is on its way down here, let’s go!’ Harry had not been aware of the silence that now filled the courtroom. Two wizards were on the ground in front of Ron and Hermione, stunned and defeated. Harry turned once more to his former DADA teacher and with a final glare he raised his wand. ‘STUPEFY’~Finnegan
