Duncan, I have never had the pleasure of being one of your students but I have had the honour of training with you and attending your seminars and will continue to do so for as long as you care to teach. I find you to be an exemplary sensei and pity the blind fools who cannot see the value in your continued support and membership to their organisation. Obviously Yondan and Godan sensei are a dime a dozen in the UK to treat their people this way and I can only stress how lucky we are that you are down in Godzone where we treat our instructors and students with respect and loyalty. It pains me to see any club who have lost sight in the fact that we were never here for ourselves or to better our clubs or gain funds - we are here for the students, because without which we have nothing. I have seen the inter-club and inter-style bonding in New Zealand becoming more frequent over the past 12 years and realise that being a modern and progressive country New Zealand will one day be a force to reckon with. We strive for the best in our students and ourselves and respect the value of other clubs and their instructors and I for one would be happy to one day see an independent Oceania alliance that sets us apart from the political domains set by some of the northern hemisphere. We will continue to lend our support to the Friendly Society of Aikido and Ju Jitsu clubs of New Zealand and always welcome your clubs association. Regards in Budo Sensei Mark Grogan Ai Shin Do Bu Jutsu Ryu NZ
