Duped Charter Parent (Parent & Teacher): What a way to start a week! The Core Knowledge culture gods at my child’s charter have decided to supplement the established curriculum with Creationism in their middle elementary science class. Because of the profound lack of communication between anyone in the school, I had NO IDEA this was even a possibility. I shouldnt be, but I’m shocked! One of the reasons that we decided on a charter was to expose our children to more science at an earlier age…how disappointing! I would love to hear from anyone, from any public DCSD school, that has encountered this type of “science” instruction. Does this exist more broadly here or is this just an attempt to be “innovative?”
