This way he missed 34 congregational Friday prayers in a row and was not even permitted to join different events with his relatives. Hurriyat (G) spokesman Ayaz Akbar said Geelani would start his political activities from Friday by addressing a public meeting in Sopore after which he would pay a visit to the residence of Muhammad Afzal Guru, who was sent to the gallows on February 9 this year. According to a statement issued here, Akbar said the police siege outside Geelanis Hyderpora residence was lifted after three years. The makeshift police bunker outside Geelanis residence was dismantled Monday night. A senior police officer informed Geelani that they have been directed to lift the siege, he said. Akbar said that Geelani would also visit the families of those killed in Gool, Kishtwar, Shopian, Tral and Markundal.
