During many Khutab (Friday sermons) about the Seerah, it is restricted to the virtues and akhlaaq of the Prophet (saw), rather than the intellectual, ideological and political struggle in Makkah. During Ramadan the Battle of Badr is discussed but without mentioning the virtue and goals of these Ghazawaat (battles). As Ali Ibn Hussein (ra) used to mention that they taught the battles of the Prophet (saw) just as they used to teach a Surah of the Quran. And Al Zuhri mentioned (in Ghazawaat Al Rasul of Ibn Kathir) that the battles contain knowledge about the world and hereafter. These battles took place after an Islamic State was established and the battles afterwards in the era of the Khulafaa Al Rashideen and those after them were part of the foreign policy of the Khilafah. It was due to these battles that Islam reached the countries of many Khutabaa (Friday preachers) today, who keep silent on their own history which gave them honour.
