During my first year of studies, I was in college, discovering tidbits of peoples charts even between classes since I was carrying my ephemeris--an enormous red hard cover book that probably weighed at least as much as four of my books for my classes. Somewhere along the line in that first year, I managed to get into a journalism class that included working on the campus newspaper. . My name? Scorpion Starr! lol Now mind you, I really dont think, as I look back now, that I had nearly enough knowledge under my belt to have done this, but the class instructor asked if Id like to do a horoscope column in the paper. How could I refuse??? . With a few ideas under my belt of exactly what I wanted to do, I set out to construct rough ideas of charts for each Sun sign for each and every day of the coming month, drawing hasty little circles on a scratch pad. Mind you, this was long before computers were available for the home, much less available for me to use elsewhere since I was afraid of them (and my finances certainly couldnt afford to take such a hit). I didnt even have a pad of wheels and barely knew how to do much more than lay out a general idea for a chart in that little circle. After all, an actual chart would have taken me--by hand--90 minutes! . One day, my history prof stopped me and asked, Michelle, are you Scorpion Starr? . I grinned. Why do you want to know? (Im a Pisces Sun, and to my knowledge, she knew nothing about astrology.) . And then she told me why. I cant remember the exact date, or rather, I remember March 27, just not the year: . Do you remember, she asked, last month when you wrote that on [such and such a day] certain signs were going to forget appointments or need to get them rescheduled? . I did, in fact. Neptune had gone retrograde around that time. (I could have sworn Mercury did too, but it apparently had returned to direct motion around then too.) By now I had to confess to her that I was indeed Scorpion Starr. . She continued. Well I want you to know I forgot all of my classes that day! . That remains one of the pearls of those early years with astrology. . Sooo...got one to share? This is the thread! Seems like a good time for us to have some levity and/or memorable moments like this. For me, that was one of the moments when I realized I was on the right track in getting it all together in this field. How about you?
