During my trip to the Mini Siam, I ran into a man and his son that I saw at the Sanctuary of Truth. He struck up a conversation and I learned that he is from Kuwait. His older son is in Cookville, Tennessee studying mechanical engineering. He is in Thailand for a medical procedure for his neck - he has a pinched nerve. We chatted about the unbearable heat and humidity, both of us complaining. When I told him that I am from the States, he thanked me and my country for our liberating his country from Saddam Hussein and that the son that is with him was born after that and he always tells him how America saved his country and its people. His gratitude was appreciated and made me proud to be an American. I know that sounds completely cheesy, but as much as I love my country, there are many decisions made by our government, past and present administration included, that I am saddened by.
