During one of Dr. Zakir Naik’s lectures, somebody asked him “between the Sunni and Shi’ah, who are on the right path”? Dr. Zakir smiled and answered that “in the true Islam, throughout the Holy Qur’an and Sahih Hadiths, there is nothing like Sunni or Shi’a”. He further stated that “both of them were mainly constituted in furtherance of politics and nothing more. And in fact Allah stated clearly in the Holy Qur’an, that Muslims should always come together and not to be separated under whatever guise”. The questioner then asked him again “Then which of the two are closer to the truth”? “He answered him saying “the ones’ whose actions and spoken words follows the exact guidance of the Qur’an and Sunnah without adding or subtracting anything”. This therefore goes to show that all the so-called groups thriving and looting in the name of Islam are just power and money mongers hiding behind a baseless guide from a baseless source.
