During the 29 Oct Church Conference, Skylands District Superintendent Rev. Dr. Steve Bechtold announced the pastoral coverage upon Rev. Diane Koobs retirement for Sparta UMC to be shared with a three-person team, effective Sunday, December 1 2013. This team will consist of Rev. Bechtold, taking the lead in administrative pastoral responsibilities, Rev. Alden Welch, taking the lead in the pastoral care, and seminary intern Wen-Ling Lai, continuing in Children Christian Education. All three will share in worship planning and preaching. Please join our community in praying for and joining Rev. Bechtold, Rev. Welch, and Ms. Lai as they begin a partnership with the Sparta United Methodist Church in continuation of ministries and mission work in Sparta and beyond.
