During the Days of Awe, the run up to Rosh HaShanah through Yom - TopicsExpress

During the Days of Awe, the run up to Rosh HaShanah through Yom Kippur we hear a lot about Teshuva. We seek the forgiveness from G-d for sins committed against G-d. We seek forgiveness from fellow humans whom we have hurt from them. Nobody but the offended party can forgive. Therefore in the case of murder, a person who commits such a crime can only be forgiven by the person murdered. Not by his family but by himself. A person cannot be excused murder and therefore Capital Punishment is necessary and needs to be imposed. I do however disagree with the American system whereby those on death row can spent 10-20 years of incarceration before execution. I do believe in the death penalty, but to be imposed immediately not decades later.
