During the Saturday class I went through the movements of Step - TopicsExpress

During the Saturday class I went through the movements of Step Back and Wrap Upper Arms (Dao Juan Gong). After showing the movements, I made a few corrections, namely: - Keep the head at a steady height, to prevent the body from popping up. - Make sure the shoulder are kept down. Here I had to make small alterations to the position of the hand that come up next to the face. As the position of the hand was not able to be made without moving the shoulder up, I decided to follow the principle and prevent the shoulder from popping up, rather that doggedly trying to get the hand next to the face. Once the shoulder is open, the hand may well get there, but for now, the hand position cannot override the shoulder principle When executed, the movements were much more contained (no apparent movement), and power was more evident. This fits in with the list of principles: See: practicalmethod/2014/01/keep-a-lid-on-power/#more-36490
