Durrus 2 Bunratty 3. Durrus played local rivals Bunratty in a big derby match on Sunday morning. As has been a regular occurrence this season, Durrus started slowly and conceded an early goal from a corner kick. Durrus continued to struggle a foothold in the game as Bunraty played with good quick passing and deservedly added a second after 20 minutes with a cracker of a shot from outside the box. It was after this goal that Durrus finally woke up and almost pulled a goal back soon after when Ray o Sullivan played a great through pass to Patrick Burke, whos shot beat the keeper but hit the post and bounced to safety. After some telling halftime changes, Durrus came out strong in the second half and for the first time all game, gained the upper hand in the game as they got stuck in and broke up the majority of Bunrattys passing moves and created some decent half chances, with Brian Regan coming closest with a shot that just rose over the crossbar. Durrus pulled a goal back on 70 mins when ray cat was fouled in the box and Ciaran O Donovan slotted home the penalty. Durrus now had all the momentum and pushed on and got an equaliser with 10 mins left when Michael Burke picked up the ball 30 yards out and with nothing on, hit a screamer of a shot that hes unlikely to ever repeat that flew into a the top corner. The last 10 minutes was end to end as both teams searched for a winner and unfortunately for the locals, that went to Bunratty as the final whistle approached with Liam Hegarty hitting another long range beauty that rifled into the bottom corner. It was a tough ending for a Durrus side that had shown great heart to get back into a game that looked over at half time. They now have little room for error in their remaining 5 matches and will look to start better in those as they have conceded first in almost every game this season.
