Materials will be limited to charcoal, pastels and chalk on tinted paper, the class will focus on good analytical observation, but avoiding stiff drawing. We will deal with proportion, volume, form and lighting. There will be an emphasis on the importance of back up measuring of proportion and angles, in order to get a good representation and to gain an understanding of the dynamics of the human form. Brian studied Illustration at Bristol Polytechnic and since leaving college in 1989 has been a full time Artist and Illustrator, he attended regular life drawing sessions while working in London and has been running a weekly life drawing work shop in Dublin for the past 10 years.
