E-LEARNING SOLUTION PROPOSAL 2014 Yesterday we had the Kenya Private Schools Association one day conference at Prideinn Hotel in Nairobi where private schools owners met to discuss on the introduction of E-learning project 2014. We discussed on the way forward for all private schools in Kenya since the introduction of one laptop per child by the government of kenya to all public schools pupils while the private schools pupils were left out of this government project. We discussed on how we should encourage each school owner to buy at least 100 to 150 laptops and the challenge was how and where will the funds come from? WAY-FORWARD 1. Each private school owner was encourage to seek for one laptop per child donors if they can help each individual school. We were encourage to develop relationship with our international friends if they can support this project. Some can give laptops, developed e-learning curriculums and other software for our schools. 2. We were encourage if we have friends then we have a tool to begin with. Then we need to be open to them and ask them if they can support or if they can look for friends involved with e-learning program to partner with us. 3. Every private school should have computer lessons from the pre-school up to primary. In the meeting we had facilitators from china, Korea, India, America and they really taught us much on how laptop have helped their nations. CHALLENGE - school owners complained that this days donors may be one time helpers only and they are not very committed to help much. - there are few donors to be found. - finances are a great problem.
