E7 Froth: Okay, before I start frothing, I should probably say - TopicsExpress

E7 Froth: Okay, before I start frothing, I should probably say that prior to turning up on Friday I was intending to retire Lunetta after E8. I had begun to feel like I was turning up to deal with more and more negative stuff and the positive had begun to drain away. I was leaving Empire feeling frustrated and irritated and low, not buoyed up like I had originally. This game changed that. I got to unwind and relax, spend time with some lovely, lovely people and all-in-all remember exactly what I loved most about my character and about Empire. Ups: * The Gilded Horn Carta. For all your madness and chaos and craziness…I love you. You guys MADE my game this event. I had so much fun just larking around with you all, and the evenings spent singing and drinking and chatting and hearing the tallest of tales were just wonderful. I definitely felt like part of the Gilded Horn family and it definitely had a big impact on how much I enjoyed the game. I cannot thank you all enough. Special thanks have to go to Jonathan (I love Serrusto. I just want to give him big hugs and be there to push him back up when he looks so down!) Christopher (Magnus made Lunetta this kind of halfway-house between Ilariya and Felix at points, which was new and fun! Also, our “spar” which seemed to turn into “Magnus proving how refined his showboating has become, oh, and training too!” was just brilliant) Joanne (I love Ephilides, she is just the sweetest person, and I can’t wait to see how the cornucopia looks (eek, a wedding present!)) and Kittie (Lunetta is so proud to be Sabrina’s apprentice, and it is so great to be able to get involved in the singing and the theatrical side of things that Lunetta usually isn’t involved in due to priestly stuff!) alongside (of course) Felix and Hayley who provie me with hours of fun, and make me very sure that Lunettas life as a married woman (eventually) will be anything but smooth sailing! * My first dedication! Oh my gosh, I cannot begin to describe how overly excited I was as I headed to GOD to proudly proclaim “Hi! I did a priestly thing!” It was so wonderful to sit with Julius (Marvin), Meredith (who are you? Let me know!) and Ilariya (it was like having my own apprentice, which was exciting and terrifying in equal measure!) talking to Robert (again, who are you? I would really love to know) and then getting to perform an impromptu but wonderful, very ceremonial dedication. Lunetta is no doubt going to stay in fairly regular contact with Robert as I think she feels a sort of loyalty to him as her first dedicant, to make sure that he is alright and everything is okay! :D * Nora (Miranda). A somewhat sad “positive”. Firstly, I am so sad I didn’t get to spend more time chatting with you before time out. Letters WILL be sent. Lunetta feels so connected with Nora it’s insane. To lose those they cherished most on the same day, at the same time, just a year apart is not an irony lost on Lunetta, and I hope it will make for a more and more closely linked friendship. * The Noodle People (Rosie, Noodle Man)! I did not, by any stretch of the imagination, expect to be stood in the noodle van this game at any point! :D However, it was just absolutely AWESOME! Firstly, these guys work SO hard and keep track of SO many things it’s unreal. (I found myself repeating orders five or six times just to check I had actually got everything right in my head, and that was without remembering boxes or to shout orders through or to add water to the noodles or to check the amount of satay left or…yeah. XD) Secondly, you hear so much of the IC gossip while serving. It’s great! I felt like I was on a static extension of the IC field, which was great. At no point did I feel disconnected from the IC goings-on. Thirdly, getting to go on field with you guys later in the day was just a wonderful evening, and it did just feel like I was with a group of my closest friends, despite only having spoken to you for two or three minutes at a time prior to this event. I would love to do that again and make it a regular thing, as I walked away with a huge smile on my face. I would love to make helping in the van a regular thing, so this might pop up on a few more froth lists in the future! :D * Singing! I think I spent as much time singing this game as I did talking. Let’s keep making this happen! * The Carta Notturno. I really ought to come across and meet you all a little more, as Julius is Lunetta’s main link with you guys. Thank you for the bacon sandwich, the friendly conversation, and I shall have to send Magnus in Felix’s direction! * Tea! We need a Gilded Horn tea party. Everyone, together, going to a tea room and drinking tea together. Being sat there (at various points on Sunday) with Sabrina, Magnus, Ephilides, Felix, Tatiana (Steph) and Ilariya was lovely, and just added a nice relaxed taper towards time-out that I hadn’t expected but was very grateful to have had. Downs: * Turning up with a horrible, horrible migraine. Big thanks to David (and Steph for offering) for providing me with meds. I was lucky in that after nine hours of pain, the medication did the trick and I was back on my feet, enjoying myself, shortly afterwards. * Tent pegs. Alas poor tent pegs, we knew them not at all. I think I must have bent half the pegs I had trying to get them into the solid ground. * Missing the battle (is also a semi-positive). Due to having had the migraine (and late night) I decided to bow out of going to the battle on Saturday. This means in the two events I have had a sword, I have not used it in battle as of yet. Next game. XD If these are all my negatives, I consider this game a very, very, very big win. :D
