EAGLES UPDATE--Your Clifton UMC Eagles played two strong games of winning softball last night versus two opponents in a division above ours, losing 10-3 to Meissner Insurance and 13-8 to Crazy Fox Saloon. The evening featured a two-game hitting streak for Annie Burton; an inside-the park home run for Drew Depoe and another blast by Aaron Depoe that hit the fence on the fly; a rare 8-7 putout in the outfield in which Elijah Votaw got a glove on a deep fly ball and Bob Blum completed the play; a nice outfield catch by Shirley Colegrove; several excellent defensive plays by inflelders Desiree Maynard, James Canfield, and Donny Packard; and--as always--great fan support from Don Deems, Brian R Wesler, Kalyn Klontz, Aubrey Sarna, Scott Whitehurst and friend, James new wife Sabrina, and Tammy Rechel. Next Tuesdays games are at 6:45 and 8:00pm--yawl come! Fly Eagles Fly!
