Gandhi Jayanti "UN declared International Non Violence Day was celebrated in 34 Suburbs of Western Sydney; The project was jointly Organised by Gandhi Peace Centre Australa; A snippet from Press Release "Council libraries such as Penrith, Blacktown, Parramatta, Auburn, Bankstown, Canterbury, Lane Cove, North Sydney, Waverly and Randwick have committed to display Gandhi books from 2nd October to 9th October 2013. Blacktown Librarian Margaret is very enthusiastic of the project she said “Blacktown is very much multicultural city and that they would be displaying the Gandhi books and Gandhi Life Posters from 21st September “World Peace day to 2nd October, International Non Violence day.” Hornsby Council, Chatswood Coucil, Liverpool Council have added the books to their collections. “On average 200 people visit each of the Library; Imagine 200 people x 30 libraries x 7 days equal to 42,000 people are exposed to Gandhi’s peace and Non Violence messages.” Says Juliana Jamal the coordinator of Library Project. “Next year we shall be reaching out 100 libraries in NSW” Mr. Vidyut Desai who is a retired IT professionals and full time Gandhian Volunteers."
