EARLY MORNING FROM THE BED POST I find it hard to fathom and it might even be considered ironic, the most important thing that has been taken from me by parkinson’s is my ability to speak clearly and to be understood. I have been robbed of verbal communication with others; I never thought I would say this, but I miss talking. I have realized now how important it is and will never take it for granted again. There is hope however. I can reclaim this valuable possession. It will take hard work and diligence on my part, but through therapy I can regain my property. So, this is my promise to you... I will do whatever it takes to bring my voice back to a point where I can be understood (even in a noisy room). All I ask from you in return is your willingness to be patient with me. Thank you.
