EAST LEEDS 24 west hull 12 I would like to start with another apology but this one is not my fault. I would just like to say sorry to Kai Thorpe of West hull who apparently had a offensive remark shouted at him I myself didnt hear it as i was concentrating on the game but sorry if it upset you and your mum and was out of order as youre only 14. Todays game was the biggest of the season so far semi final of the national cup against a very good hull side but luckily today Barla provided the officials so hull didnt have to bring their own this time. We received a text last night that hull was bringing two coaches im assuming one was for the team and the other one was from a AA meeting as they was drinking at ten in the morning far be it from me to be complaining about people drinking early morning but its kids rugby but like one of them said its a day out for them. A big thankyou must go out to everyone today from both teams and the officials for the respect everyone showed in the minutes silence which was held before the game for mrs Mcguire and Mrs Durkin. West hull arrived probably full of confidence after knocking East Leeds out of the yorkshire cup the other week but our boys have had a good few training sessions and after a couple of defeats recently and not having a game in a few weeks we was all hoping the boys would come out and do themselves proud and boy did they do that they was all outstanding every single player. It was the best game of rugby a lot of people will have ever seen between two brilliant teams that on their day play some amazing rugby. It was so close in the first half as both teams arm wrestled with each other and it took a great move to get the ball out wide to mazwai who got his first try for East Leeds this season. You could see how important it was by the celebrations from not just the players but coaches and parents a like. Big Joe brought his kicking boots today and superbly converted the extra points. West hull have some great players and with their number 9 pulling the strings as usual and their number 8 making the yards for them they can always cause you trouble thats probably why we took a kick at goal just to get the extra 2 points on the board. It was great to see every player stand up and be counted on today. They played some brilliant rugby throughout the game. With only a 8 point lead at half time we knew hull would come hard at us in the second half. Sam was making making some great yards when ever he could while Shaun and Bob were running it in hard on every set. The hole team was doing all they could to come away with a victory from Lucas and Big Moose smashing it up in the middle of the park. Big joe has settled in superbly and scored a great try which wouldnt of looked out of place in the NRL a high kick and chase and while the hull full back was waiting for the ball to come down Joe just came from nowhere caught the ball and went under the sticks to extend our lead which apparently was taught to him by tony as its was allegedly his trade mark move during his career. While Dylan and Azz was passing the ball around once again in the middle of the park Keidan was teasing the hull defence with his jinking runs. Liam and Luke came off the bench to give a rest to who ever needed it and Liam made a massive contribution with a great set off hands to get the ball to cooper and we know what he can do and with a great burst of speed got over the line in the corner. Hull never gave up and got a couple of tries of their own and you can see why theyre such a good side. Massey once again was running it hard at hull when he came off the bench and callum was chipping in with some strong running and occasional tackle. Colby out on the wing is fitting in nicely and comes in and helps out tackling. With only a minutes left and it still being close it came out to cooper again and with quick step and burst of speed he was away and over the line once again to round of a brilliant team performance and seal the win. Boy did we celebrate that try could even forgive joe for missing the kick. Play like that every week boys and well have a great season and should get some silverware. You made us all proud today thanks boys. Back to league action next week hopefully and its all to play for again with lock lane putting on a surprise and beating Cas Panthers. We now have east hull in the final and hopefully will be another great game with the same result with East Leeds winning.
