EDITORIAL Compatriots, I once again welcome you to another brighter rewarding week. We are taking bold steps and striding towards a new and better Amuwo. Also, it is important that we keep informing you of our developmental strides, including efforts to improve the living conditions of our people. Indeed, this is part of the demanding tenets of democracy, and we owe you the responsibility of upholding them. In the past week, the management team of Golden Tulip Hotel, Festac Town, Lagos paid us a courtesy call. The team reaffirmed their commitment to providing Corporate Social responsibility (CSR) to the good people of Amuwo Odofin Local Government. As part of our commitment to improve energy distribution in our community, we donated 500KVA transformer to the Nigerian Army Cantonment, Ojo. This will further boost their energy supply, and reduce security risk in the barracks. Meanwhile, it is germane we inform all that the reconstruction of 21 road, I close (1,985.21sqm), Festac Town, Lagos one of the seven roads earmarked for reconstruction is nearing completion. Once again, we appeal to residents to please endure this period while some projects are still on-going, as our efforts at ensuring infrastructural development in our LGA is a task that cannot be compromised. Furthermore, on the environment, the Local Government’s effort so far to maintain the community’s environment was appreciated by a Non-Governmental Organization. The organization chose the Local Government to discuss and fashion ways of combating the Climate Change scourge. Once again, we need to state here that it is the responsibility of all to take care of their environment. The local government will continue to play its part to make the environment cleaner and habitable, however, advise residents and visitors alike to treat the issue of the environment with utmost seriousness. As we inch closer to our goal, let the spirit of love continue to bind us together.
