EMILY & NATHAN! Based out of NYC, Emily Vanston is a passionate swing dance teacher, performer, and social dancer. She specializes in the Lindy Hop and other jazz-era dances, and teaches at Dance Manhattan Studios in NYC, and at events throughout the world, including the Hep Cats’ Holiday in England; the Southside Stomp in Norfolk, VA; the Shake, Rhythm & Roll Festival in Asbury Park, NJ; and the Flurry Fest in Saratoga Springs. He performed at Carnegie Hall, with the New York Pops Orchestra, & at the legendary dance mecca, Jacobs Pillow. As a national competitor, Nathan has taken 1st place in Lindy, Slow Dancing, Solo Charleston, Team, and Cabaret divisions—he even holds one title as a follower! He performs regularly with New-York companies: Swing FX and The Vanaver Caravan. He has taught at specialized camps worldwide, like Swing Out New Hampshire, Lindy Focus, and Swing Brother Swing.
